I am a Web Designer and Front-End Developer, born and bred in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. I recently graduated from the University of Hull, Scarborough Campus, with a BSc in Web Design and Development.
I am passionate about creating stunning websites for my clients and always research the latest web-based technologies to optimise performance. Beautiful design, organised code and usability are three of my main aims when designing modern websites. I'm also a fanatic for optimised resources to promote quicker load times.
I enjoy working alongside both individuals and businesses on various projects and always strive to deliver the very best at what I do!
My university degree has given me a broad understanding of the various elements associated to web design and development. Much of the work involved developing a further understanding of coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. This then allowed me to develop interesting and impressive assignments.
Many of the modules looked closely at the front-end work, however there were various back-end projects. The Collaborative Development module focused on team work and mobile application design. Leading to the development of a species recording application to be used by the CEMS department.
I recently underwent a weeks worth of experience with the digital agency - Askew Brook. This allowed me to understand how a Web Design agency worked and the tools and techniques commonly used. They introduced me to SVN, a version control system, however highlighting how the industry is moving towards Git.
The team at Askew Brook are a great bunch of guys and offered me great support on the various work elements including; improving speed results of various websites, re-designing elements to their personal website as well as various print and video designs.
